My New Book: "Activities for a Greener Mindset"
Harry Waters is the founder of Renewable English*, a teacher trainer, writer TEDx speaker for Empowering Future Changemakers. As soon as he could, he packed his bags and taught in as many places as possible from South America to South East Asia, down to Australasia and back over to Europe. He settled in Spain, where he has worked in both academies and schools. He has an incredibly hands-on approach to teaching and is intent on bringing his classes to life with games for his students both young and old.
Having your first book come out on Friday 13th is a good thing right?! I reckon so. (Thankfully by the time you can buy it on the 16th, Mercury will no longer be in retrograde)
It's a bit of a surreal moment to be honest. So why not scream about it a little bit?
"Activities for a Greener Mindset" is the newest release in the award-winning series "Ideas in Action" from DELTA Publishing
So, if you're looking for the perfect gift this Christmas? Or maybe just a thoughtful treat for any teacher or, for that matter, human who’s ready to dive into sustainability, creativity, and empowering learning? This is the book for you.
It's packed with practical activities, thought-provoking ideas, and a sprinkle of humor, it’s designed to help us all take small steps toward big change, in the classroom, and in life.
Whether you're a seasoned educator, someone new to teaching, or simply curious about making a difference, this book offers something for everyone. Because, let’s face it, sustainability is about a lot more than saving the planet; it’s about shaping how we live, learn, and grow together.
Thank you to everyone who’s supported this journey, I'll try and give you a wee tag here, your encouragement has meant the world.
Heidi Salyer you got the ball rolling. For that you receive 5 gold stars and any packet of chrips you desire.
Kate Baade and Jason Anderson, having to edit something written by someone as scatter brained as me must've been a challenge, thanks for putting up with it and guiding me to something much more readable.
Ethan Mansur and Riccardo Chiappini your book was a huge inspiration for me and a wonderful guideline. From the first proposal until the final copy, this book has been influenced by you both in ways you couldn't even begin to imagine.
Another huge thanks to all of those who let me put wee features of you in the book and you shared your ideas and experience so generously.
Elijah McKenzie-Jackson, Shreyaa Venkat, Esha Venkat (She/Her), Amy Meek, Tim Meek, Kids Against Plastic, Paul Goodenough, Common Seas Clover Hogan, Imogen Napper, Climate Mental Health Network plus a whole host of others.
The biggest thanks has to go to Gema Galán Estévez for constantly supporting me, listening to my ideas and telling me which ones were stupid and which ones were less stupid. Also, for providing me and thus the book with so many incredible photos.
